SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring was invited by Barnes International, Inc. to participate in an editorial titled Cleanliness Counts in Manufacturing Today magazine. The article is an overview of Barnes success in coolant filtration operations and becoming an international company with worldwide alliances.SlipNOT® was highlighted as a preferred vendor of slip resistant flooring products amongst other companies such as Great Lakes Pump and Supply, Boll Filter Corporation, and Brinkmann Pumps, Inc.

William Kirchner, the CEO of Barnes, said one of the keys to their success is the ability to customize filtration designs, offer competitive pricing, and deliver small or large quantities in 4 to 6 weeks. Barnes is headquartered in Rockford, IL, the largest manufacturer of machine tool filter systems in North America, providing deep bed gravity filters, vacuum media filters, pressure filters, rotary drum filter conveyors, bag filters, among other products. Barnes helps ensure companies that the coolant consumed remains properly filtered while allowing recycling of metal waste. If the coolant is not filtered it can build bacteria and negatively affect product quality. Thousands of gallons of coolant are used daily, making it imperative to the production process.

Due to the amount of coolant dripping throughout the filter systems, the flooring becomes slippery. This could result in a slip and fall accident, which is why Barnes reached out to SlipNOT® for a slip resistant solution. SlipNOT® has supplied non-slip grating and plate in the most abrasive Grade 3 coating to Barnes since 2008. These products are installed on access stairways, work platforms, ladders, and hatch covers throughout the facility.
